CCBB Sala de Cinema  LIKE TWENTY IMPOSSIBLES VINTE IMPOSSIBILIDADES 35mm, 2003, cor/color, 17min, Palestina, EUA/Palestine, USA Palestina ocupada: uma serena paisagem agora marcada pelos postos de controle militares. Quando uma equipe de filmagem palestina resolve se desviar de um posto fechado seguindo por uma isolada estrada vicinal, vemos se desenrolar a paisagem política, e os passageiros são lentamente arrasados pela brutalidade banal da ocupação militar. Tanto poema visual quanto narrativo, “Vinte Impossibilidades” questiona o oportunismo de artistas, a fragmentação de uma sociedade e a distância entre ficção e realidade. Occupied Palestine: A serene landscape now pockmarked by military checkpoints. When a Palestinian film crew decides to avert a closed checkpoint by taking a remote side road, the political landscape unravels, and the passengers are slowly taken apart by the mundane brutality of military occupation. Both a visual poem and a narrative, “Like Twenty Impossibles” questions the opportunism of artists, the fragmentation of a society and the space between fiction and reality. Documentário. No início das filmagens a intenção era fazer um retrato do Universo. Procurávamos uma metáfora para a alma e chegamos à pena. Começamos a seguí-la, do corpo do ganso ao travesseiro das pessoas... Documentary. When the shooting began we were going to make a portrait of the universe. We were looking for a methapher for soul and got to feather first on the body, later on able to fly. We started to follow the feather, from the goose´s body to the people‘s pillow... Ficção. Um “road movie” que mostra um dia na vida de um menino russo do século XI. Naquele dia ele está a caminho de seu cavalo doente, quando em sua vila chegam soldados para batizar os pagãs locais. Mas o grande evento histórico para a Rússia se torna um obstáculo no caminho de Phoshka para salvar seu amado animal. Fiction. A “road movie’ describing one day of a small Russian boy’s life of the eleventh century. That day he is on his way to his ill horse and at that day at his village soldiers came to baptise the local pagans.
